NEW ART AT SPRINGFIELD HOSPITAL

SPRINGFIELD, VT — The current exhibit at Springfield Hospital’s gallery space features paintings by Ludmila Gayvoronsky of Newport, New Hampshire.

Gayvoronsky imbues her paintings, which range from expressionistic to surreal, with a visceral energy and emotionalism. Her portfolio incorporates dreamlike, mysterious qualities, combining the past with imaginative mythical or allegorical settings and fusing the abstract and the real into a distinctive original style. Her work has been featured in Manhattan Arts Magazine, Who’s Who in International Art, The New York Art Review, and Encyclopedia of Living Artists.

“In my recent works, I convey solitude and happiness, sorrow and joy, depression and optimism” says Gayvoronsky. “I show life as a gift to enjoy and to perfect ourselves, but also as a challenge to believe, to struggle, to help and to hope.”

She says that she likes to fuse the abstract and real connected by one feeling or imagery into one painting. “My goal is to say more with less. I strive for simplicity.” Her work may also be viewed at her website, The Aesthetic of Enchantment, at www.ludmila.biz .

The current exhibit runs through October 30. The exhibit is located on Level B of the main hospital building, between the main waiting room and the Emergency Department.

Ongoing exhibits in this hospital gallery are provided in cooperation with VAULT (Visual Arts Using Local Talent). For more information, call Larry Kraft, Springfield Hospital Foundation, at 885-7644.
