Jackson Gore Features Last Summer Event Friday

submitted by Okemo Mountain Resort

LUDLOW, Vt. – The final performance of this season’s Jackson Gore Outdoor Music Series is slated for Friday, August 31, with a free concert featuring The Larry Dougher Band.

With passion and reckless abandonment, Larry Dougher’s guitar playing and singing never fails to leave a crowd exhilarated and amazed. His live performances have gained Dougher a reputation among fans, musicians, and critics for being a rising star on the blues horizon. Larry Dougher began playing guitar at the age of 15. Although self-taught, he turned to such "teachers" as Buddy Guy, Albert King, Muddy Waters, BB King, Jimmie Vaughan, Magic Sam, Otis Rush and many others. Those influences shine through every time Larry picks up a guitar. Backing up Larry on drums is veteran of the New England music scene Bobby Gagnier. Bobby brings a wonderful range of versatility to the band seamlessly moving between blues, R&B, rock-n-roll, and all the while matching Dougher's energy and dynamics. Rounding out the trio on bass is Michael Fralish, who moved to the New England area from Minnesota. Mike's youthful energy and musicianship provides the backbone that is so important to a top-notch blues trio. More information about the band an a sampling of their music is available at http://www.ldband.com.

The final concert of this summer’s Jackson Gore Outdoor Music Series will take place on the lawn in the courtyard at Okemo’s Jackson Gore Inn Admission is free and the grounds open at 5 p.m. Concerts are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. Families are welcome and all attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. In case of rain, the concert will move undercover. An outdoor barbecue is available, as well as dining in Jackson Gore’s Coleman Brook Tavern.
