Lake Rescue Buoys Stolen

Courtesy of the Vermont Journal

LUDLOW - Vandals have stolen four large “no wake”  buoys from Lake Rescue, and the Lake Rescue Association is asking for help in getting them returned.

The buoys were anchored in congested coves on the Lake and remind boaters that they should slow down to five miles an hour or less to make sure they do not endanger swimmers and children in kayaks or canoes and that their wakes do not cause damage to lakeside property.

The buoys are about four feet tall and a foot in diameter and are white with red printing.  The buoys cost $200 a piece and were an investment by the Association to try to make the Lake safer for all who use it.

If you have seen the buoys or know anything about them, please call the Ludlow Police Department at 228-4411 or Frank Wingate of the Lake Rescue Association at 228-7601.

There is a $100 reward for information leading to the retrieval of four intact buoys.
